Description

It is common today to divide the Mosaic Law into three parts: the Moral Law (or the Ten Commandments), the Civil Law, and the Ceremonial Law. While there is nothing wrong with making these distinctions, the Jewish people never made such separations.  James wrote, “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all [the law]” (James 2:10).  Clearly,  we must obey it all or we are guilty of all. We cannot divide the Law into what we obey, and what we do not obey.  Then, why do some consider the Mosaic Law to be the present-day rule of life? Is it true the Law must be preached for someone to come to faith in Christ? Is the Law required for sanctification? How can only part of the Mosaic Law be binding?

The relationship between the Law and the believer continues to be a source of confusion which has made its way into the church. Join Gil Rugh as he searches the Scriptures for God’s purpose in providing the Mosaic Law.
